However, thanks to advancements in science over the past two decades, we now have a much more durable and superior form of protection: ceramic coatings.

Unlike the traditional "wax-on-wax-off" method made famous by Mr. Miyagi, ceramic coatings involve applying a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds directly to the vehicle's surface. This coating is often referred to as a "sacrificial" layer because it absorbs elements such as rain, dirt, and snow, thereby providing enhanced protection to the underlying paint.
To illustrate this, think of wax as a tent in the forest that offers basic protection from rain and dust. Conversely, a ceramic coating is akin to a sturdy brick house, offering superior and long-lasting protection. Many coating companies make bold claims about their products' capabilities. While there's truth to some of these claims, I prefer not to exaggerate what coatings can do. However, there are several actual benefits you can expect from a coating:

As a general rule, the more durable the coating (e.g., a 1-year versus a 9-year coating), the more challenging it is to install. Given the unpredictable weather, we conduct coating installations in garage kept areas to control working conditions as much as we can.
Misconceptions of Ceramic Coatings
Certainly! Ceramic coatings offer long-lasting and durable protection for your vehicle. However, it's essential to remember that they have their limits. Simply applying a coating doesn't mean your vehicle is invincible.

Many customers expect the coating to shield their car completely, but that's not the case. Light swirls and scratches might still occur, especially if proper washing and drying techniques are not followed. For instance, using a dry and dirty wash mitt can lead to scratches on the paint.
Ceramic coatings won't safeguard your paint from rock chips; for that, paint protection film (PPF) is the better choice. No matter how many layers of protection you apply, be it wax or ceramic coating, they can't prevent an impact from damaging your vehicle.
To maintain the coating's durability, regular maintenance is crucial. Neglecting proper care can cause it to degrade over time, shortening its lifespan.
To maximize durability, ensure you properly wash, dry, and boost the coating correctly. Even a coating designed for 6 years can start breaking down after 3 years without proper care.

Do you have a shop?
No, we primarily operate as a mobile detailer based in Liberty Township. However, for services with greater complexity, we do offer the option for drop-off and pick-up at our home location in Liberty Township. This flexibility ensures that we can cater to various detailing needs efficiently.

Can I wash my car after coating installation?
After coating application, avoid getting the vehicle wet for 48 hours to allow complete curing. For the first two weeks post-application, we advise against washing. Your first wash after coating installation is complimentary for us to assess the coating's performance.

Can ceramic coating replace my clear coat?
If your paint is chipping or fading due to clear coat failure, a repaint is the only fix. Ceramic coating does not address clear coat issues.

Can I get the coating without prep work or paint correction?
We require proper prep and correction before applying coatings to ensure you benefit fully from the coating's protection and enhancement features.
